This June, Atlanta’s Sandler Hudson Gallery invites visitors to embrace the unexpected with Indie Rokkers, a group exhibition curated by Isaac Mehki featuring fourteen artists: Deborah Zlotsky, Craig Drennen, David Ivie, Ezekiel Robinson, Harrison Wayne, Jill Frank, John Oetgen, Kevin Hopkins, Lilly McElroy, Mono Feo, Renee Stout, Ross Landenberger, Sergio Suarez, and Shawn Campbell. The exhibition explores the fascinating tension between structure and spontaneity, reminding us that play is often where creativity thrives.
From Ivie’s tiny ground level bronze figures placed sporadically throughout the gallery to Oetgen’s whimsical figurine photographs and Mono Feo’s curiosity-sparking papier-mâché sculpture, Indie Rokkers encourages viewers to slow down, look closer, and engage more deeply with their surroundings.
