Fashion meets fine art in DIOR: Crafting Fashion, the new exhibition now on view at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film through August 23, 2026.
More than a celebration of couture, the show pulls back the curtain on the creative journey, from early sketches and pattern toiles to runway spectacle, revealing that the process behind a Dior gown isn’t all that different from the process behind great art: inspiration, experimentation, craftsmanship, and a little bit of magic.

DIOR: Crafting Fashion invites visitors inside nearly eight decades of creative evolution, tracing the vision of Christian Dior and the celebrated designers who followed in his footsteps. Moving through seven immersive galleries, the exhibition explores everything from the precision of the ateliers and the artistry of pattern making to floral inspirations, iconic handbags, theatrical runway moments, and star-studded style history. It’s a reminder that great design is never static – it is inherited, re-imagined, and continually refined.
What makes this exhibition especially inspiring for creatives is its focus on process. The show reveals the often-unseen steps behind creation: the muslin toiles, craftsmanship, experimentation, styling, and storytelling that happen before the final reveal. For those of us in the art and design world, it’s a beautiful parallel to our own work, where mood boards become compositions, details become experiences, and every finished piece begins with an idea taking shape.
Perhaps that’s the real takeaway from Dior: whether creating couture, interiors, or hospitality artwork, inspiration blooms when artistry and process meet. We hope you enjoy this selection of our favorite pieces in the DIOR exhibit paired with works by our Studio Artists from the Kalisher Collection.
