Who We Are

We are a full-service gallery with customers that range from individual collectors to interior designers, gift shops and national retailers. We exhibit at H/D Expo in Las Vegas and starting in 2007 will also exhibit at NeoCon in Chicago. Limited edition originals are available direct through the gallery - selected limited edition prints are also available through The Michael Shapiro Gallery in San Francisco.

Helen KalisherHelen Kalisher - VP, Design

Helen Kalisher has many notable design credits to her name. She designed travel guides for Dorling Kindersley as well as web pages, packaging and more for Apple Computer. Apple users know her work—Helen created the ubiquitous dotmac logo back when she worked as a designer for MarchFirst. Now, Helen splits her time between caring for her two children, Jordan and Tamar, and running all of the design work for the gallery—from creating this website, to desiging trade show booths and new framing concepts. Needless to say, her life is full and at times, ridiculously busy. Still, she says, "I wouldn't trade any of it for anything." Helen has also signed on with Regent Seven Seas Cruises where she leads workshops on Photoshop Elements. Email:

Sarah ElderSarah Elder - Gallery Manager

An honors graduate from the Marketing program at The University of Florida, Sarah began her time with gallery as Jesse's part-time Assistant, proved herself in short order and was quickly promoted to full-time Gallery Manager. Sarah's current position is vast and varied —she fills her time taking care of everything from customer support and sales to book-keeping and project management. As the gallery grows, Sarah continues to learn and apply the necessary skills to run a successful business. "This is perhaps the best learning experience that anyone fresh out of college could ask for. I'm lucky to have joined this team," Sarah says, adding, "and on top of all that, it's great to be surrounded by all this marvelous artwork all day long." Email:

Lisa MaysLisa Mays - Sales Associate

Lisa brings experience in sales with a variety of clients.  After getting her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she moved to Los Angeles to test her ability to adapt to new challenges.  She started out in advertising; then moved to sales, working with a company that supplied design materials to the film, television, and event planning industries.  Lisa sharpened her skills in working with a client’s overall design concept, and gained customer appreciation for her ability to understand their needs.  After returning to her home state, she looked for a new way to apply what she had learned to a growing, independent company.  “It’s exciting to be able to bring together my love of art and interior design with my ability to listen to customers,” Lisa says. We’re thrilled to have Lisa as part of our team and know that clients will find her experience and knowledge a tremendous asset. Email:

Kristy MartinoKristy Martino - Gallery Associate

A recent transplant from New York City to the small town of Saxapahaw, North Carolina, Kristy brings the gallery a fresh perspective on design and marketing. After several years of working in the city across various industries including textiles and advertising and working with clients that ranged from Oracle Software to The New York Yankees, Kristy has settled right into her exciting, new environment. In addition to her work experience, Kristy earned a degree in Photography from The Fashion Institute of Technology and a degree in English from Binghamton University and looks forward to applying her background and instincts to new challenges here at the gallery. "Sure, I miss my boys in pinstripes,” Kristy says, “but I couldn't have asked for a better welcome to the south; with a growing business and wonderful colleagues to boot." Email:
